The ADO bus from Cancún airport leaves every 20 to 40 minutes, takes about 1h15 to 1h50, and was about 270 pesos in July 2026. It drops you at Playa's terminal on Av. The easy favorites are Cenote Cristalino and Cenote Azul, both near Puerto Aventuras, about 20 minutes south of Playa off Highway 307. Rinse off in the shower before you get in (it's the rule), and many cenotes ask for a life jacket and no regular sunscreen.

Nightlife centers on Quinta and Calle 12, where the clubs sit practically door to door and several go until 3 a.m. Walking back to your place after dinner is completely normal; just use the same everyday sense you would in any city you love.

Cozumel for snorkeling, diving and beach clubs: the ferry from Playa crosses in about 40 minutes and docks in San Miguel, walking distance from downtown. Tulum for ruins, cenotes and that famous beach: it's about 65 km south, around 60 minutes on the road. If you have to pick one, Cozumel gives you more for your time, because the ferry drops you within walking distance of town.
